chipparade!
wants one too! >:
My bread nightlight, which is exploding with love. ♥
Keeps me happy and not-scared when I go to sleep. Bought it during my trip to China last summer 09’. One of my favorite things ever.
Collage of all the patterns I derived from the chips.
I’d considered the characteristics of each individual chip before translating it into a pattern. For instance, the second pattern is of Red Rock Deli’s Lime and Black Pepper; I felt that the lime came through in bursts of flavour, and so, represented it with green geometic shapes based on the shape of a star.
From left -> right
1st Row: Ozack Cream Stew, Red Rock Deli Lime & Black Pepper, Taiwan Black Pepper, Koikeya Seaweed
2st Row: Kettle Yoghurt & Green Onion, Calbee Pizza, Taiwan Pepper Salt with Chicken, Fairprice Hot & Spicy Mixed Spices
3rt Row: Calbee Crispy Hot & Spicy, Terra’s Reds, Terra’s Blues, Ozack Black Pepper
Mini-sized chip bags based on actual chip bag dimensions. Instead of using text or photographs, I used patterns to arouse viewers’ interest in the various flavours that they might represent.
At the end of the day, most of the yellow hues were gone, leaving behind only the very light coloured ones and the very dark coloured ones. Interesting to see how people base their opinion on what may/may not taste good solely on colours and patterns.
A very blurry picture of my “archive-as-such”.
A potato chip book in potato chip bag dimensions (scaled down).
